John, as a civil rights leader and Reverend, I have a long history of serving my community and uplifting my neighbors. It’s what I’ve dedicated my life to – and it’s a commitment that Tekesha and I share.
That’s why I’m proud to support Tekesha’s campaign for Congress, and why
you should join me.
From fighting in the 60s as a campus president of the student civil rights group SNCC, to a trailblazing career in American public television through projects like Reading Rainbow and Sesame Street, I learned firsthand what it really means to have conviction.
I understand what it’s like to go into a space where you don’t “belong” and put your whole body and spirit towards ensuring that the person behind you does.
We need that in Congress today, and that’s exactly what I see in my spiritual sister Mayor Tekesha Martinez.
As a working class mother, renter, and Black woman, she’s defied the odds time and time again to get to where she is – and won’t stop until she brings her fight for progress to the halls of Congress. She’s dedicated to improving her community for her children, grandchildren, and neighbors.
Over the years I have been blessed to be around her and see her grow. Now is her moment. Now is the time to keep this seat out of extremist hands by electing a trailblazing inspiration.
So I’m asking you to join me, John. A movement is built one person at a time, and today we need you to be the one to step up.
Please, rush a donation right now to send Tekesha Martinez to Congress. She’s the leader MD-06 – and each of us – deserves >>
Thank you,
Reverend Don Marbury
