Support Our Efforts to Protect Bears Ears

** Hello Bears Ears Supporter,
------------------------------------------------------------

From December until March, the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition is launching a digital fundraising campaign. Our goal is to secure vital funds to enable meaningful participation in the public comment period this year for the land management plan. This period will shape how the Monument is managed for the next several decades. It's imperative that we incorporate tribal communities and elevate conservation priorities in the conversation.

Your contribution, no matter the size, makes a tangible impact on our collective mission. ([link removed])

First, thank you for standing with us during Giving Tuesday! Your incredible support helped us raise almost $4,000 from over 55 generous donors in just one day. Your contributions continue to drive our mission forward, and we're excited to share our ongoing efforts with you.

The Bears Commission, alongside the Bureau of Land Management and US Forest Service, have been diligently crafting a draft Resource Management Plan (RMP) over the past 19 months and it will be released for public comment in the next few months. The outcome of this 90-day public comment period will eventually inform and guide the overall stewardship and management of the Bears Ears National Monument into the future. It is imperative that the final Monument Management Plan integrates Indigenous perspectives, and embraces a holistic approach to land stewardship deeply rooted in the time-honored traditions of the five Tribes.

We aim to raise funds in anticipation of the 90-day public comment period and release of the draft RMP to facilitate crucial activities that will enable the Coalition Tribes to be meaningfully involved during this process. These include organizing meetings for Tribal cultural experts and Tribal leaders from each of the five nations to share invaluable management practices with agencies. Your donations will help Tribal teams gather and document their expertise, providing management recommendations rooted in traditional and ecological knowledge.

Thank you for your continued support, and for being an essential part of our journey to protect and conserve the Bears Ears National Monument. Let’s uphold traditional knowledge and expertise in this next phase of the monument by making a donation today! ([link removed])
