Friend —

Earlier this month, Emily sent you a survey with one question: What issue do you care about most right now?

We got a ton of responses, but we’re still missing yours! On our campaign, we believe every voice deserves to be heard — take a minute to take the survey now → [[link removed]]

Here’s what some of our grassroots team members have on the top of their minds:

Healthcare. Healthcare. Healthcare!! Also, continued protection for women’s health and bodily rights.

Democracy, voting rights, gun control, reproductive rights, and support for LGBTQ communities and individuals.

1. The threat to democracy posed by Trump and his followers. 2. Income inequality and corporate greed. 3. Climate change. 4. Our expensive, inefficient system of healthcare for profit.

Our team isn’t just thinking about national issues — we’re thinking local, too:

Creating pathways on and to get off the peninsula other than only 302 in a car. I think having a way to get around on foot or bike would help both the physical and mental health of our community.

Rural health care support especially on the peninsula.

More equity in how schools are funded with less dependence on tax brackets and more on district need. This should result in better retention for teachers and staff as well as students.

We heard from people from all walks of life dealing with a variety of challenges:

As a single earner with multiple jobs, and in school, my largest personal concerns right now are long-term solutions for affordable housing, food-stability, and healthcare.

I care deeply about protecting reproductive freedom. I raised two daughters when Roe v Wade was a known protection. I'm thankful the State of Washington is being proactive about protecting a women's right to choose.

Disabled people and seniors (I am both) should be able to live with dignity. It's important that both seniors and the disabled should be able to live in places they can afford that are safe, are near shopping and transportation, and are close to medical centers and clinics.

What about you, friend? Take our survey now and let us know about your top issue → [[link removed]]

Thank you so much,

— Team Emily

P.S. This was one of our favorite responses:

My biggest concern is divisiveness. We don’t pay our leaders to chase each other around, threatening one another, spewing hate, and thoughtlessly tearing down things that were already deliberated. Even today, at 73, if I behaved at work the way many leaders behave today, I would lose my small job cleaning toilets and caring for a building people come to for dance lessons.
