I've called Atlanta home since I was 15 years old. And for years, I worked to help get great candidates elected -- folks who represent my values and share my vision for the future of Georgia.

But cycle after cycle, election after election, loss after loss, it became clear to me that progressive candidates in Georgia are running in unfair races. When you look at our state legislative and congressional maps, the reason is crystal clear -- partisan and racial gerrymandering. And what's most frustrating is the fact that while millions of Georgians are suffering from bad policies, our elected officials are getting away with it -- all because of gerrymandering.

This is a fight for health care, criminal justice reform, education, gun violence prevention, even democracy itself. That's why I joined the All On The Line team as the Georgia State Director. I knew I couldn't sit on the sidelines.

Since the 2018 election, Georgians have been keenly aware of voting rights and democracy. People are definitely still angry, but they've transformed that anger into energy. And that's exactly what we need going into this redistricting fight: an energized grassroots movement that will fight to make sure elections -- and their results -- are fair.

We have an opportunity to make a real difference and leave a positive impact for decades to come. Right now we're seeing the impacts of how our elected officials make decisions that affect our everyday lives. We need to make sure those folks are representing us and not special interests.
