Hi John,
When Greg Abbott stops lying, we’ll stop telling the truth about him.
And the truth is: There have been more than 26,000 pregnant rape victims in Texas in the 16 months since his abortion ban became law. He and his extremist Republican accomplices have done nothing to stop it.
He said this wouldn’t happen. When the Republican party’s base said to make no exception for rape, Greg Abbott said that was fine — he would “eliminate rape” in Texas.
Well, he hasn’t. Women are still being raped, and they’re still getting pregnant as a result. They’ve never had a choice about whether to get raped; the only difference is now they don’t have a choice whether to have a child because of it.
26,000 women. That’s enough to fill a baseball stadium. It’s enough to make me sick. It’s … enough.
Enough with Texas Republicans lying that they support women. Enough with them passing laws that hurt the women they claim to support. Just … enough.
Texas Republicans didn’t give these 26,000 women a choice, but we voters have a choice what to do about it — and I’m choosing to protect women.
I’m choosing to vote against Republicans who don’t respect our rights, and who don’t care when rape victims are forced to become unwilling mothers.
I’m not alone.
We have 100,000 mothers and others like us who agree that we’ve had enough of this anti-women, anti-family Republican crusade. And we have millions more we can and will reach before the November election.
With your help, we’re going to send a clear message on November 5: Enough.
The Republicans in the Texas state leadership have had enough time to prove that they support Texas women and their families. It’s clear now that they don’t — and never will. So we’ve had enough.
We’re leading the charge to say enough is enough, and to elect Democratic candidates across the state who can do better than tell women we have enough safety, we have enough rights — even when it’s clear we don’t.
Can you support Mothers Against Greg Abbott as we say “enough” to the Republicans who’ve said “enough” to us? Anything you can contribute now will help us mobilize mothers and others across Texas — and there are more than enough of us to flip Texas blue this November.
