If I’ve learned one thing from my career in politics, it’s that every single vote matters. Let me tell you a story.
Working as a civil rights lawyer in Richmond, Virginia, I saw firsthand the ways people were discriminated against and unfairly denied housing.
I wanted to get ahead of the problem -- I didn’t want anyone in Richmond to need the help of a civil rights lawyer in the first place. So I decided to do something about it: I ran for City Council in Richmond. |
I knew I needed to build my campaign from the ground up to earn the support of my community, so I knocked on every single door in my district. And guess what? I won -- by just 97 votes.
If I had slacked off on door-knocking or community organizing for just a few days, I might have lost that race.
Now I’m running for reelection to the Senate, but it’s no different: This is still a grassroots movement. Every single vote counts. Every single Virginian matters. And I’m going to fight like hell to earn the support of every single one of them.
Will you help? Please contribute any amount to my campaign today to power this grassroots team for Virginia. |
I'll never stop fighting for this community -- I hope you'll join me. Thanks for your support, Tim Kaine |
