Trump must pay E. Jean Carroll over $83 million in defamation damages, jury rules
The disgraced ex-president and serial sexual predator's pathological inability to shut his mouth for any reason has come back to haunt him in painfully expensive fashion. The jury's latest award included $11 million for damage to Carroll's reputation, $7.3 million for emotional harm and other damages, and $65 million in punitive damages. This in addition to a previous jury's ruling, which found Carroll's allegations against Trump of sexual assault credible and awarded her $5 million for defamation damages as a result. All the man child had to do was let it go β but he couldn't, and now he's paying a bigly staggering price.

Wall Street Journal editorial board rebukes Trump for trying to kill border deal, warns Americans will blame GOP
The right-wing news rag that has so willingly carried the Republican Party's very dirty water for years and years did not mince words when it rebuked both the disgraced ex-president and his subservient bootlickers in the GOP for sabotaging the bipartisan Ukraine-border aid package painstakingly negotiated with the White House over the past several weeks. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell admitted his caucus was in a "quandary" because Trump selfishly opposes the deal and, well, they're scared to death to upset the 77-year-old toddler, but the Journal was nonplussed, calling the move a "self-inflicted wound" that could very well backfire "spectacularly." While we can be 100% certain Trump won't take the WSJ's hot take to heart β that would require reading and having a heart β some congressional Republicans just might, setting the stage for one very contentious floor vote in the coming days. Kowtowing to a cult leader may be hazardous to your health, folks.

Corporate jagoffs have no place in Congress
Chris Deluzio for Congress: Chris is running for reelection in one of the most competitive districts in the nation. His GOP extremist opponents have sided with corporate jagoffs over the American people. We can't let them win. Will you chip in today to flip the House blue and get America back on track?
Republican lawmaker claims he is "qualified" to ban abortion because heβs a veterinarian
"I did thousands of ultrasounds on animals," state Rep. and Wisconsin mansplainer Joel Kitchens confidently told his fellow House members. "I think I know mammalian fetal development better than probably anyone here," Kitchens continued without objection, explaining that his career as a veterinarian made him uniquely qualified to force people to carry pregnancies to full term against their will. This argument makes PERFECT sense when you realize Republicans have been dehumanizing women for decades in their crusade to establish absolute control over human beings' reproductive rights, not unlike farmers and their livestock, actually. π€

Florida removes sociology from core courses, bans DEI funding at colleges and universities
Ron DeSantis' Board of Governors approved ridiculous new rules that remove sociology from general education core course options and prohibit diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) spending at all Florida public universities and colleges. Because if there's one thing history has taught us, it's that banning things you find uncomfortable and running from hard truths is the best way to learn from past mistakes and in no way dooms you to repeating them in the future.
