August 9, 2019: The U.S. Census Bureau will hire 500,000 temporary workers to conduct a complete census of the nation’s population in 2020.[1]
In 2010, with unemployment over 9%, 3.9 million people applied for those jobs.
However, this year unemployment is much lower and the Census Bureau is hopeful they can recruit 2.3 million applicants to choose from. So far, 549,000 have applied for jobs that pay from $13.50 to $30.00 per hour.
