John – this is Katrina Shankland, former PCCC organizer and
current candidate for Congress and Wisconsin State Legislator.

This week, I sat on the Wisconsin State Assembly floor and listened to
extremist Republican politicians scream about abortion.

One of my male colleagues even went so far as to cite his experience as a
veterinarian as he claimed he was the most qualified person in the room to
talk about abortion.

Republican politicians make these outlandish comments because this is just
a political exercise for them – but women are not political pawns.

[ [link removed] ]I spoke out for abortion rights on the Assembly floor today, and I will
be a champion for safe, legal abortion access in Congress. Please help
send an experienced pro-choice advocate to Congress with a contribution
today.

For the last 12 years, I've been serving the people of Central Wisconsin
in the Legislature. Constituents across my district (and neighboring
districts represented by my Republican colleagues) have come to me and
shared their personal stories about the heart-breaking consequences of
Republican politicians interfering with their health care decisions.

I believe the people of Wisconsin and all Americans should have the right
to make their own personal health care decisions.

I'm running against Extremist Derrick Van Orden – he's just as
out-of-touch as Assembly Republicans. He doesn't support abortion rights
in the case of rape or incest, and he believes that the number of
abortions in the U.S. amounts to "genocide."

The debate my Democratic colleagues and I had to sit through yesterday
only furthers my resolve to win this seat. I've won by double-digits when
Republicans targeted me in the past, and I know with a strong pro-choice
coalition, this is the campaign that will win in November.

Western and Central Wisconsin can’t wait any longer for a pro-choice
champion to fight to pass Roe v. Wade into law in Congress.
