Hello, Friends —
Last night, I had the honor of announcing my 2024 Service Academy nominations. This special evening was dedicated to recognizing the exceptional Northwest Florida students who received congressional nominations to our country’s prestigious military service academies.
As your congressman, each year, I have the duty and privilege to identify, select, and nominate students in Florida’s First Congressional District to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Military Academy (West Point), U.S. Naval Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. I am incredibly proud to have nominated 46 students this year – the largest group we’ve ever had!
Congratulations to all the nominees. You truly represent the very best that Northwest Florida has to offer. Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our nation are commendable and inspiring. It was an honor to stand with you and your families!

REP. GAETZ JOINS ‘FOX NEWS LIVE WITH MIKE EMANUEL’
On Sunday, I joined “Fox News Live with Mike Emanuel” on Fox News to discuss how Congress must prioritize securing the Southern border as a key condition for funding the government ahead of the next deadline in March.
Americans are sick and tired of watching the invasion on our Southern border and rightfully think it’s crazy that House leadership would continue to fund the government with no demands for shutting down the border. To get the job done, House Republicans have to take a stand and not back down to the establishment.
REP. GAETZ RESPONDS TO SUPREME COURT RULING ALLOWING BIDEN ADMIN. TO DESTROY BORDER FENCING IN TEXAS
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court, without opinion or rationale, overturned a federal appeals court’s decision that temporarily prevented the Biden administration from dismantling the border fencing Texas constructed to protect its state from illegal aliens.
The courts had merely blocked the Biden administration temporarily during an ongoing Texas lawsuit. As the district and appeals courts both noted, the Biden administration cut these fences “for no apparent purpose other than to allow migrants easier entrance further inland.”
In other words, there is no conflict between federal and state law here — the Biden administration and the Supreme Court are merely facilitating illegal immigration and the destruction of Texas property.
It’s sad that the Biden administration is so open-borders that it cannot wait for a single lawsuit to complete before wasting federal money destroying Texas property that we will all ultimately have to pay for — and that’s even before we count the costs of housing, feeding, and clothing the illegal aliens resulting from this decision.

REP. GAETZ PAYS TRIBUTE TO FALLEN NAVY SEALS
On Sunday, an 11-day rescue mission for Navy SEALs Christopher J. Chambers and Nathan Gage Ingram was called off, and both men are presumed deceased. According to officials, members of their team were beginning to climb aboard a vessel to seize advanced weapons destined for Houthi forces in Yemen when Ingram slipped off the ladder and fell into the waves between the two boats. As a standard operating procedure, Chambers courageously jumped in after his teammate in an attempt to rescue him.
Ginger and I extend our deepest condolences to the Navy SEAL community and the families of Christopher J. Chambers and Nathan Gage Ingram. May they rest in peace and may God bless their families.

PETER NAVARRO BECOMES LATEST POLITICAL PRISONER UNDER JOE BIDEN
On Thursday, Peter Navarro was sentenced to jail after defying the illegitimate January 6th committee. It is a stain on our justice system that Peter sees even one second in jail. The committee’s sole intent was to smear President Trump and his allies by lying to the American people.
Peter is just the latest political prisoner under Joe Biden. I hope this is a wake-up call to the weak Republicans who are sitting on the sidelines while liberal activists prosecute MAGA.

REP. GAETZ TO HOLD MOBILE OFFICE HOURS IN NICEVILLE
On Tuesday, January 30th, my office will be hosting Mobile Office Hours from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CT in Niceville, Florida. The purpose of this event is to better inform constituents on how we can assist them with issues involving federal agencies, such as the IRS, VA, USCIS, passports, and SBA.
These office hours offer constituents who do not live close to my district office a more convenient way to receive casework assistance.
REP. GAETZ REMEMBERS THE LIFE OF SERGEANT TAKIA HARTON
On Tuesday, Ginger and I were made aware of the premature passing of Sergeant Takia Harton of the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) this past weekend. This young soldier from Tennessee enlisted at 18 years old and devoted the last five and a half years of her life in service to our country.
Her dedication and patriotism are an inspiration. May she now find the peace and comfort she deserves. Our thoughts and prayers are with her parents, family, and the entire 7th Special Forces Group during this time.

The sound (clips) and the fury: Inside House Republicans’ livestreamed revolt
“The House GOP’s website lists nine member-hosted podcasts, though only those by Gaetz, Biggs, Burchett, and Rep. Dan Crenshaw remain active, and they vary in popularity. Since its inception in 2021, Firebrand has amassed over 25 million views on social media and another 5.5 million on audio platforms like Spotify and Apple. From when McCarthy was first put on notice in September to when he announced his resignation from Congress in December, Gaetz’s show garnered 4.3 million views across streaming platforms, plus another 2.7 million views on social media, according to data shared by Gaetz’s communications director Joel Valdez, who also serves as executive producer of the show. The show consistently ranks among the top 100 political podcasts on Apple, according to Chartable, which tracks podcast popularity.”
