Hello JOHN,
I’m writing to you today with alarming news for women across the country. Last week, on the eve of the 51st anniversary of the Roe V. Wade decision, House Republicans passed two pieces of anti-abortion legislation that plan to give more resources to pro-life pregnancy resource centers and requires colleges and universities to give students information about their rights and resources if they were to become pregnant – which does not include information concerning abortion, miscarriage, and other reproductive health resources.
Extreme Conservatives have made it abundantly clear that their next step would be to ban abortion nationwide with no exceptions. These bans disproportionately impact people of color and low-income individuals, and the majority of Americans oppose the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
