Campaign Update in Response to COVID-19

Hi Team Cori!

We've said it before and we'll say it again—our volunteers are the core of this people-powered campaign. That being said, your health and safety and the health and safety of our constituents is the top priority right now. In the interest of public health, we will be shifting from in-person canvassing and campaign events to virtual efforts for the time being.

Just because we won't be reaching out in person, that doesn't mean that we are slowing our efforts. In fact, it means just the opposite. In a grassroots campaign, every voter supporting Cori and every donation makes a difference. It is more important than ever that we continue to show St. Louis that Cori is the voice we want advocating for us in a public health crisis. Here are some ways you can help us keep up our momentum as we monitor COVID-19 and its effects on St. Louis.

Grassroots campaigns like ours rely 100% on people-power. Digital canvassing apps like Reach allow us to get to our voter outreach goals quickly. We encourage you all to contact your network via social media, text, or email to let them know about Cori's campaign and to track them in Reach if they are eligible to vote in Missouri's 1st District on August 4th.

Isra and Shana have put together this great tutorial to show you how to use Reach to canvass digitally. If you aren't registered with Reach yet, please text 'Sign me up for Reach' to 314-492-8386, and we'll get you registered!

Contacting voters is crucial to the success of the campaign, and it's so easy to do from home! Because we are not knocking doors, for now, we need to work even harder to exceed our calling goals. You can make calls anytime between the legal calling hours of 8 am and 9 pm, and you can make calls whenever your schedule allows. To learn more about virtual phone banking, sign up here.

Invite your family, friends, and neighbors to a virtual house party with Cori!

Hosting a virtual house party is a great way for you to shorten the distance in social distancing and introduce Cori and her campaign to your network. It'll be just like a regular house party, except you get to skip the cleaning and you don't have to share your wine (or beverage of choice) or social distancing snacks!

Writing postcards to voters is an easy way to pass the time while binge watching your favorite Netflix shows. You'll be given a stack of postcards and a list of recipients and addresses, and all you have to do is write a quick note about why you're passionate about Cori and her campaign—no stamps required!

We're pulling out all the stops to get in touch with our voters and volunteers—if we could get our hands on carrier pigeons, we'd be sending those out, too! Texting is quick and easy, you'll just sign up for our texting platform and push send. Sign up to send texts here.

Fundraising is more important now than ever. With COVID-19 completely changing the way we campaign, making our monthly and quarterly goals is going to be difficult, but not impossible!
