Just over a year ago, I took mi mama and abuelita for my swearing-in at the Capitol, but what instead happened was an egregious display of incompetency by far-right Republicans as they tried and failed to elect a Speaker fourteen times.
That incompetency has proven to be a trend for the House Republicans of the 118th Congress. From rebelling against the Speaker they elected to wasting time on baseless impeachment inquiries, it’s clear that they would rather do anything but serve the constituents who elected them.
Enough is enough. If I don’t hold my seat in November, we risk another two years of right-wing chaos — and that’s not a chance I’m willing to take.
