It's always surprising, yet naturally satisfying, when we see Trump held accountable. In this case, he has been found guilty of defamation. Writer E. Jean Carroll has been awarded $83.3 million in damages for Trump denying her sexual assault allegations are credible. 

 

These **sexual assault allegations are about Trump's assault of Carroll herself**, and the fines will undoubtedly never compensate for her experience with this awful predator. We, as a country, are better than this.

 

This is just another instance of **a hard-won, long-delayed repercussion for Trump**. They do exist, folks, even if the pacing is not what we would hope. 

 

Trump has no shortage of lawsuits. He has already been indicted in Washington, Florida, Georgia and Manhattan. We can only hope that the verdict of this case – and the enormous sum Trump must now pay – will bring some hesitation to voters who are undecided about Trump in 2024.
