In this year’s elections, we can take back our House and build on that progress to better protect our communities from gun violence. And we need your help to do it.
20% of adults, and 33% of Black or Latino adults, report knowing someone who has died due to gun violence.
25% of adults report knowing someone who has attempted or died by suicide using a firearm.
41% of those who are gun violence survivors report experiencing trauma due to the incident.
Friend,
Nearly every day, we see news of a gun-related incident in our communities. Every day, we lose nearly 100 lives to gun violence. Every day, survivors of gun violence live in their new reality and work to get through their daily lives after extreme trauma.
We have gotten so numb to this. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
We know that assault weapons bans prevent mass shootings and mass casualties. We know red flag laws keep guns out of the hands of high-risk individuals. We know how to keep our communities safe. But Republicans in the House are more concerned about the right to bear arms than the right of all Americans to live a safe and healthy life.
