John, first off thank you for being a loyal member of Team Bolton.
Since November, we have delivered a steady diet of the current news of the day that is shaping the world from week to week. We’ve included surveys asking you who do you think is America’s biggest threat, to take our National Security Attitudes Survey, and even to comment on what you think of Biden’s decision to finally reclassify the Houthis as a terrorist group.
Through each opportunity to hear from you, we’ve received no shortage of great feedback. All of which has helped us better understand the pulse of concerned citizens like you.
Driving the Week: Kim Jong Un Drops the Mask - North Korea officially repudiates ‘peaceful reunification’ in favor of total domination.
John Bolton in the Wall Street Journal: John Bolton detailed Kim Jong Un's recent posture change towards South Korea. This should be alarming to all concerned citizens.
Critical Context: Kim Jong Un is a rogue dictator who is on the brink of having functional nuclear capabilities. Kim is setting the stage to annex South Korea by force. He is counting on the continuation of weak American leadership - one that undervalues South Korea as a strategic asset.
The Final Word: North Korea's nuclear program was never for defensive purposes, as they claimed and U.S. liberals believed, but to aid the North in a takeover of the South. We need to wake up to what is at stake if Kim makes the next move to advance on South Korea.
News this week: The U.S. must consider striking Iranian targets
John Bolton on News Nation: John Bolton discussed the continued strikes against Iranian proxies in Yemen by the U.S. and U.K. forces. Bolton explained that these strikes are necessary, but also cautioned that we must remember that these proxies are all expendable to Tehran. Until we hit Iran where it hurts, Iran will continue masterminding further acts.
Critical Context: Bolton asserts that regardless of attacks against proxies, Iran continues to feel no pain. We have to strike them in a way that deters further acts against our allies.
The Final Word: U.S. military personnel must consider striking Iranian military targets to show we will not accept continued belligerence in the region. Iran’s ring of fire will only continue if we fail to act. It is up to Biden and the leaders of the West to respond, and respond with force aimed directly at Iran. Failing to do so may result in future casualties and prolonged war.
"Chaotic and unpredictable" - John Bolton on Sky News
John Bolton on Sky News: On Sky News, John Bolton spoke about why a second term with Donald Trump would be "chaotic and unpredictable," and why the public's outlook on Joe Biden is so pessimistic.
Critical Context: We are routinely seeing on the world’s stage that America needs leaders to answer difficult challenges. We already are seeing what a weak leader in Joe Biden signals to our enemies. America cannot afford another four years of weakness on the international front.
The Final Word: There is much at stake in 2024 but regardless of who is elected president, that person must respond forcibly to bullies like Iran. Iran’s current ring of fire strategy must not continue as it continues to pose a dangerous threat, one that is only getting worse by the day.
Biden won't acknowledge Iran's responsibility in the Middle East
John Bolton on Cats & Cosby on 77WABC: John Bolton discussed that Biden simply won't acknowledge Iran's responsibility for the escalation in the Middle East. It’s more than laughable but it’s true.
Critical Context: Bolton detailed that there have been over 150 attacks since October 7th, on Americans – Syria and Iraq. Between Hamas’ attacks on Israel, and Hezbollah and Houthis’ continued acts of aggression in the region, threats to U.S. and friendly forces are rising. Iran itself pirated a U.S. controlled tanker ship, the St. Nikolas. All of these show as clear as day that Iran is arming and financing these groups. To date, Iran has felt no pain directly from retaliation. Biden is content with targeting proxies alone. Biden doesn’t seem to understand the risks Iran is exposing. This has to be a campaign issue in 2024.
The Final Word: Biden’s ignorance on Iran, unbacked by a plan of deterrence or retaliation, will further put our troops and our national security at risk. We need a working strategy.
