Microplastics have invaded the remote Arctic. This is very concerning, as the microplastics are contaminating the algae, which are the foundation of the food chain. Already, humans potentially ingest the equivalent of a credit card's worth of microplastics every week.
Microplastics are found everywhere, really. In beer, honey, tap water, sea salt… microplastics have been found in many, many things we consume. And the largest source of microplastics? The plastic products we use break down into smaller and smaller particles.

This issue deserves immediate action. Nearly half of U.S. plastic waste comes from single-use products and packaging. Our excessive production of single-use plastics now spreads to every corner of the planet. The issue impacts both marine and human health alike.
Tell Congress to enact a nationwide ban on single-use plastics. This is not just an environmental issue—it's a matter of public health.
