Hi,

This has been a really difficult week for all of us. As I am sure it has been difficult for you and your family. But know, even though we temporarily suspended all political campaign activity during this epidemic, we are still fighting each and every day for this community and the people of Massachusetts.

Here are some things we've done that we're extremely proud of:

This week, the Hill reported that: "Joe Kennedy III's campaign response to the virus has been one of the more unique ones so far."

So, what have we been doing exactly?

1. Joe is hosting virtual, multi-platform town halls.

Every weeknight, Joe hosted a special guest live to discuss a critical element of COVID-19 response. On Thursday he hosted Andy Slavitt, who ran the Affordable Care Act rollout for President Obama. Wednesday he hosted José Andrés, chef and founder of World Central Kitchen, to discuss ensuring those most in need across the country have food. Before that he was joined by Jason Furman, the former Chair of President Obama's Economic Council, and State Rep. Jon Santiago, an emergency room physician at Boston Medical Center.

Make sure you follow Joe on Facebook and Twitter to watch our next town hall today at 4 p.m. with health care champion and patient advocate, Peter Morley.

2. We created an online response center as well as a "virtual office" on Facebook, where people can access the latest information about COVID-19 and Joe's efforts.

We are continuing to keep this updated as things evolve. Please visit the website for regular updates. You can also join our virtual office here.

3. Joe is checking in on Facebook with a live family video every morning.

You may have caught the Kennedy Chorus sing along on St. Patrick's Day morning. And you don't want to miss his daughter Ellie's rising star! Be on the lookout for these on Joe's Facebook in the morning – they're a little bit of light-heartedness in really tough times.

4. Instead of raising money for his campaign, Joe has asked supporters to donate to the social service organizations on the front lines of this crisis.

You have probably received a series of emails from Joe, asking you to consider chipping in to donate to organizations like Project Bread, Pine Street Inn, and Meals on Wheels –– groups doing everything they can to help those most in need, from seniors to food-insecure families. Thanks to your incredible generosity — particularly during such anxious economic times — we have raised thousands of dollars to date and intend to continue this effort in the weeks ahead. If you'd like to chip in a few dollars, please click here.

5. Joe is consistently reaching out to Spanish-language speakers who have reported trouble accessing COVID-19 resources and information.

From using Facebook to communicate the latest information and guidance to ensuring Spanish language materials on our online response center, Joe has been using his Spanish skills to communicate consistently with the Latinx community in MA and across the country. Check out his great interview with El Mundo.

6. Joe has been utilizing local press across Massachusetts to deliver needed public service announcements and important updates on Congressional response efforts.

As you know, being accessible to everyone in the state has always been a priority for Joe. To the extent he is able, he has put a premium on connecting with local media outlets North, South, and West to make sure every constituent has access to the latest information. A few great examples here:

WPRI: Kennedy: Congress should send Americans cash to boost economy

Fall River Herald News: Kennedy: 'We have to make sure people don't lose everything'

Attleboro Sun Chronicle: Kennedy fields calls about coronavirus pandemic at Attleboro district office

WATDMarshfield: Congressman Joe Kennedy III Discusses Coronavirus with WATD

7. Joe is leading the charge for an aggressive, progressive policy response to this crisis.

His Congressional office has been working around the clock on legislative response efforts –– from access to personal protective equipment, to increased Medicaid funds, paid sick leave, and a host of other policy proposals.

Most notably, Joe rolled out his own worker's economic recovery package that contains an ambitious direct cash assistance plan for every American family, as well as expanded unemployment insurance and increased funding for medical centers across the country.

8. Joe is personally calling constituents and hosting regular Zoom calls with constituency groups (students, faith leaders, veterans) to check in on them and hear what their communities need.

When he's not doing any of the things mentioned above, Joe is on the phone –– calling local Mayors, state officials, Congressional colleagues, frontline health care workers across the state, and countless others battling this crisis. He is doing intimate conversations with individual constituency groups via Zoom – including a town hall with college students where he discussed unique challenges they face from displacement to hunger to loans.

Those are just a few of the things we did this week. We are so proud of this community for being strong and have been so impressed by the outpouring of support we have received online from folks like you.

Talk soon, stay safe, stay inside, and wash your hands.

We'll get through this, together.
