We hope you have had a great week! We cannot believe that the first month of 2024 is already coming to a close. Before we jump into recapping our week, we want to remind everyone that the Affordable Care Act marketplace open enrollment period ends on January 31st in New Jersey! Before Wednesday, be sure to go to New Jersey’s Get Covered website if you want to update your plan or enroll in a new plan. Congressman Kim continues his work to make these plans accessible and affordable for families across New Jersey!

One Year of the Dads Caucus!

On January 26th, 2023, Congressman Kim was proud to help launch the Congressional Dads Caucus to stand up for working families! Over the past year, he has worked with the Dads Caucus on different legislative efforts that would expand the Child Tax Credit, invest in maternal healthcare, expand affordable childcare, and prioritizes legislation that helps families and lowers their everyday costs.

We are proud of the accomplishments that the Dads Caucus has achieved over the past year and look forward to making further progress on behalf of working families.

We Must Restore Roe

In the same week we recognized Maternal Health Awareness Day, we also recognized what should have been the 51st anniversary of Roe V. Wade. The loss of Roe has jeopardized millions of women’s access to comprehensive healthcare, stripped many from their fundamental right to choose, and sent us backward in support for women and their health.

From voting for the Women’s Health Protection Act to codify abortion rights, supporting legislation to tackle the Black Maternal Health Crisis, to protecting the right to access contraception, Congressman Kim will keep working to restore Roe and defend everyone’s basic rights, privacy, and control to make choices about their own body.

A Visit to Meals on Wheels in Mercer!

Meals on Wheels and all their volunteers work tirelessly to, literally, deliver for seniors and homebound community members! Congressman Kim had the privilege of visiting the Meals on Wheels of Mercer County this week to speak about their most recent work, including the new Pet Pantry. This initiative came out of a worry about people sharing some of their own meals to help their pets and helps make sure that both people and pets have enough to eat.

Thank you to the Mercer County Meals on Wheels team, and all those working for the organization throughout New Jersey for all you do!

National Gun Violence Survivors Week

Too many Americans know the pain of gun violence. As we recognize survivors of gun violence’s stories this week, we strive to honor their experiences by passing gun violence prevention laws that can put a stop to the gun violence epidemic plaguing the nation. Congressman Kim is proud to stand with so many tireless fighters against gun violence. Building off the bipartisan Safer Communities Act, we will not stop working until we have the laws needed to save lives.
