John, I just want to let you know up front that this is a slightly longer-than-usual email about the policies I’d like to see the House prioritize if we flip the chamber blue this year.

If you don’t have time to read the entire thing, no hard feelings, just know that I could use your help making all this a reality. Would you be willing to donate toward my re-election campaign to help me flip the House blue?

Healthcare

I believe that healthcare is a human right, John.

Parents shouldn’t have to make the impossible decision of whether to buy important prescriptions for their children or enough groceries to make it through the week.

Families shouldn’t have to worry about being saddled with insurmountable debt after a doctor’s visit or medical emergency.

Our seniors shouldn’t have to cut pills in half to save money because of the skyrocketing costs of some life-saving medications.

Our country has the resources to solve these problems and make health care affordable for every single American, and it’s long overdue that we do.

Lowering Costs for Families

Whether it’s putting groceries on the table, paying off student debt, starting a family, or buying a house, Americans are struggling, and we need to do more to alleviate their financial burdens.

Instead of addressing these issues, the GOP-controlled House is focused on holding sham investigations, shielding Trump, and helping their rich buddies get even richer — all on the taxpayers’ dime.

We need bold action to make housing more affordable, provide relief for those struggling to get out from under student debt, and give families the time and resources they need to thrive.

We need to pass legislation that can take some of the pressure off of working families by doing things like increasing the minimum wage and empowering unions to bargain on behalf of workers.

Addressing the Climate Crisis

Kentuckians have seen firsthand the devastating effects of climate change, and it’s sadly no surprise to see that vulnerable and lower income communities bear the brunt of the impact.

The climate crisis is the existential threat of our generation, and it’s going to require big ideas to address it head on and do right by our children and grandchildren.

That means investing in a green economy, providing job training for folks making the switch to green jobs, and putting a premium on electric vehicles, renewable energy sources, and long term investments in programs that will pay dividends in the future.

We need to hold polluters accountable, strengthen regulations to ensure that everyone has access to clean air and water, and be a leader on the world stage.

This is just a fraction of what we can and must accomplish if we’re able to retake the House this year, and step one is defending blue seats like KY-03. Can I count on your support by pitching in $25 to help us flip the House in November?

Thanks for taking the time to read this, John. I know that together, we can do big things and deliver for Kentucky families.
