Not even a week after what would have been the 51st anniversary of Roe, Wisconsin Republicans continue their attempts to steal reproductive rights from Wisconsin women.
That’s right. Wisconsin Republicans are trying to ban abortions after 14 weeks of pregnancy.
This bill blatantly defies women’s bodily autonomy and freedom to make choices about their bodies, all under the claim of being “pro-life.”
These are the same “pro-life” Republicans who refuse to pass comprehensive gun safety legislation to prevent mass shootings and save innocent lives.
These Republicans aren't “pro-life,” they are pro-birth. And they will do everything they can to inflict their personal beliefs on Wisconsin women.
This issue is personal. Before me, my mother had a complicated pregnancy that could’ve taken her life. Back then, she had the right to choose and decided to end the pregnancy. If my mom hadn't made that decision, I am not sure she or I would be here today.
Choice matters, yet Republicans continue to try to steal bodily autonomy from women.
We cannot let them continue to abuse their power to limit the rights of Wisconsinites. It’s time to take back the legislative majority in Wisconsin and elect pro-choice Democrats up and down the ballot this November.
