DC Nurses need your help

Dear Friend,

?

There have been some alarming changes made to the delivery of care in DC Public and Charter Schools. Rather than having one stable nurse at each school, nurses and supportive staff are now floating between a "cluster" of schools. Our friends at DC Nurse's Association (DCNA) have made clear their concerns with this "Cluster Model" will seriously impact student safety and wellbeing as well as damage school nursing integrity and professionalism in DC. DCNA nurses are advocating for there to be a nurse in every school, and they need our help to get the DC Council to hear us! Take one minute to sign their petition to stop the cluster model and stand with DC nurses:

Parents: how you can get involved!?

Has the new model for nursing allocation affected your family? Have your kids been denied adequate nursing assistance due to not having a nursing professional available at their school? Let us know about your family's experience with the "Cluster Model" by filling out the survey linked below.?

We believe kids not having access to proper nursing care is unacceptable and encourage like-minded parents to organize together around this issue. If you are interested in parent organizing, please reach out to [email protected] for more information or join the parent google group linked below. Together we can make a difference and demand good jobs for nurses and safe schools for our children!
