Hi Friend, Did you know that Michigan’s Presidential Primary Election was moved up to February 27th? Michigan is an early nominating state this year, which means Michigan voters’ voices are even stronger when it comes to the presidential election. For too long, two states had a disproportionate impact on the outcome of presidential primaries, but now, diverse states like Michigan are going to have a stronger voice. For more than 30 years, I have worked hard to make sure the voices of states like ours are heard. Now, it’s time for Michigan to turn out in big numbers and make our voices heard! Voters in Michigan can cast their ballots in Michigan’s Presidential Primary Election starting today! That’s right — you can request your absentee ballot or make your plan to vote in person. Every eligible voter has more choices when it comes to voting this year. First, make sure your voter registration is up to date by filling out this simple form. Then, decide how you want to vote. If you want to vote from home, request your absentee ballot as soon as possible. You can fill out an online application here or you can download an application here to print, fill out, and mail back to your clerk’s office. Request your absentee ballot as soon as possible so that you have enough time to receive it, fill it out, and return it! When you request your absentee ballot, you have the option to opt-in to Michigan’s Permanent Mail Ballot List to receive a ballot automatically in the mail in future elections. Once you have your absentee ballot, fill it out (follow the instructions carefully) and then return it as soon as possible to your clerk’s office using the provided envelope or to a secure drop box. Find your city or township clerk’s office and your designated secure drop box here. If you want to vote early in person, make your plan today! Michigan voters can now vote early at Early Vote Centers. Your experience will be similar to voting at a polling place, including inserting your ballot into a tabulator and watching your vote be counted in real time. In most municipalities, Early Vote Centers will open on Saturday, February 17th, but some communities may open sooner. You can also vote in person at your city or township clerk’s office using an absentee ballot. Find your city or township’s Early Vote Centers here.
