It’s Friday so we’ll keep it simple. Here’s a rundown of what the GOP has been up to in our district:

FIRST: Republicans have been trying for years to flip our district and unseat Lauren from IL-14. This time around there are two far-right opponents duking it out to face her in November. They know that reelecting Lauren to represent IL-14 is crucial to Democrats’ efforts to reclaim the House majority. 

SECOND: The GOP hopes that the third time’s the charm for perennial candidate James Marter in the upcoming Republican primary so he can campaign on his agenda that includes a nationwide abortion ban and repealing the Affordable Care Act.

THIRD: Marter thinks this is his chance to face Lauren at the ballot box and trick voters into flipping this seat red. Republicans would be thrilled to push Lauren out of Congress — they hate how effective she is!
