Support from Republicans around the country for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s decision to continue to deploy concertina wire along the U.S. border with Mexico near Eagle Pass despite a Supreme Court ruling to the contrary.
On Thursday, both the Republican Governors Association and former President Donald Trump issued statements encouraging Abbott and the authorities working under his leadership to protect the state’s sovereignty. “When I was President, we had the most secure Border in History,” read an email from the Trump campaign titled “Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States.” |

At a minimum, Biden’s complete disregard for border enforcement is a far bigger threat to America’s security and constitutional order than anything that happened on Trump’s watch, Jan. 6 included, an event the media and Democrats have been bleating about for three years. Yet how much discussion have you seen in The New York Times lately about Biden’s corrupt responsibility for America’s immigration disaster? |

Biden was at the Earth Rider Brewery in Superior to tout the effects of his infrastructure spending sprees — because, apparently, we desperately needed federal money to ensure that a brewery in a state that drinks the seventh-most alcohol per capita in the nation stayed open during a pandemic that kept people home and saw booze consumption soar concomitantly. (No offense, Wisconsin, but I think this is one area where we could have let the free market do its work.) |

How does it feel to have the largest government that the planet has ever seen?
When I was growing up, I was taught that we had a capitalist system and that we had a limited federal government. Of course neither of those things has been true for a very long time. Today, the United States has the biggest government in the history of the world, and it gets even bigger with each passing year. Running that gigantic government requires more money than we actually have, and so we are going into staggering amounts of debt. |

On Wednesday, Governor Greg Abbott of Texas issued a letter announcing that the state of Texas was going to start enforcing the border. They’ve been doing this for a while. Yet the federal government has objected to the fencing they put in the middle of the Rio Grande barriers. So Abbott issued a historic letter in the face of a constitutional crisis that has been created entirely by Joe Biden and his evil activities on the border. It is evil not to enforce the border of your country, to purposefully leave the border wide open, which is what Biden has done. |
