Why is this fight so critical? In addition to the outsized climate impacts Willow poses, the project and other proposed industrial development would threaten unique landscapes like Teshekpuk Lake, home to millions of migratory birds and a critical winter habitat for grizzlies, polar bears and the Teshekpuk Lake caribou herd.
Projects like Willow burn massive scars into the Arctic, like a 5.5-acre ice pad that poses a severe risk to the delicate balance of this landscape.
