During these difficult times, we remain committed to our mission of helping families lift themselves out of poverty. COVID-19 is in 17 of the 21 countries we work in, and we are actively reaching out to our programs in the field to assess how our project participants are being impacted and how we can best help. Please know your support will be used where it’s needed most.
John,
Today is World Water Day, and we all know that water is essential to human life — every living thing depends on it, every day. So it’s hard to imagine not having access to clean water, let alone having to walk miles each day just to have a drink. But that’s the reality for so many around the world.
That's why Heifer International is working to make sure that every village and family has easy and reliable access to safe water — families like Khardiata’s.
Before Heifer’s Senegal project came into her village, 10-year-old Khardiata walked to gather water every day, morning and night … and the water supply was scarce.
But thanks to Heifer International, a well was built in her village, which provides reliable access to clean water, allowing families to grow vegetables during the dry season and have food throughout the year!
Watch Khardiata tell her story in her own words — and see how your ongoing generosity has changed her life.

Khardiata’s village is small, but that doesn’t stop her from dreaming big. And it’s all thanks to generous supporters like you that children like Khardiata are now in school, thriving — and they have bright, hopeful futures ahead of them!
Learn about how our work in Senegal is ending hunger and poverty worldwide for families like Khardiata’s.
Thank you for your generous support as we work to ensure that every child and family has reliable access to clean water.
Sincerely,
Amy Spears
