Geist - Light Night [ [link removed] ]
Fri 2 & Sat 3 February
City Centre
Illuminate your imagination as you explore the city centre for Light Night next weekend. You can see over 30 immersive and interactive light-based installations, performances, and activities after dark, for free.
The full programme has just been announced, with highlights including Our Beating Heart at Old Market Square – a rotating sculpture featuring thousands of mirror fragments – and a brand-new installation by This is Loop (who brought PULSE to last year’s event) called Geist, at Sneinton Market Square. There will be a collection of neon lights created by Chila Kumari Burman at Nottingham Castle, plus a six-metre-tall inflatable light sculpture, The World Has Gone Pear Shaped, at Sussex Street.
There are many more events and installations across the city at locations such as Binks Yard, Nottingham Contemporary, Nottingham Central Library, St Mary’s Church, Nottingham Cathedral and Nottingham College Art School.
Light Night visitors can download the free *It’s in Nottingham app [ [link removed] ]* to plan their visit, or pick up a printed event guide from the Tourism Centre on Smithy Row.

Noises Off
Noises Off [ [link removed] ]
Tue 30 January - Sat 3 February
Theatre Royal
Michael Frayn’s celebrated play serves up a riotous double bill, a play within a play. Hurtling along at breakneck speed, Noises Off follows the on and offstage antics of a touring theatre company as they stumble their way through the fictional farce, ‘Nothing On’.
See the shambolic final rehearsals before opening night in Weston-super-Mare, a disastrous matinee in Ashton-under-Lyne seen entirely, and hilariously silently, from backstage, before their final, brilliantly catastrophic performance in Stockton-on-Tees.
