John,
Those of you who have followed me since I first announced my campaign for Congress know that my roots in public service began in the Chapel Hill-Carrborro City Schools Board. Coming from a working-class family, the importance of education was always front and center. And as a parent to young children in the same school district, I would later serve in, it became clear to me that to achieve education equity, we needed leaders championing it.
Over the past year, Republicans in our state have fought to dismantle our public schools by expanding the use of private vouchers and limiting funding for our public schools. These Republican bills will be disastrous for North Carolina families and set us back decades.
Throughout my career in public service, I’ve worked to make sure our children and grandchildren have equal access to education. These latest attempts to disenfranchise North Carolina families won’t deter me. I can’t do it without your help, John. Will you support my efforts to protect our public schools by chipping in $10 or whatever you can to my campaign?
