How many more times will Republicans take us to the brink?

Once again, Democrats voted to avoid a GOP government shutdown. Republicans keep relying on Democrats to do the most basic job of governing even though they control the House. Make it make sense.

This endless cycle of narrowly avoiding a government shutdown every few months because Republicans refuse to get their house in order is a disservice to the people who call this country home. I’ve said it time and time again: Republicans are pushing us from crisis to crisis — and that’s not governing.

Let's be clear: I’ll keep fighting to reverse the harmful legacy of policy violence that Republicans have left in their wake. Because if they can legislate hurt and harm, then I believe that we can legislate equity, healing and justice.

Here’s the thing: this is only possible if we work together. So if you’re able, please chip in $25 or more to fight back against GOP chaos and extremism, and to power this grassroots movement.

The truth is, since Republicans took control of the House, their leadership — or lack thereof — has been characterized by chaos and contempt for the people. They’ve made it clear that workers and families are not their priority. They have failed to propose policies that would benefit our communities and have instead waged culture wars in a stark contrast to what actual governing should be.

While Republicans play their political games, I’m committed to fighting alongside Democrats to ensure the well-being of the American public so everyone can not only survive, but thrive. From the seniors who depend on Social Security and Medicare to single mothers who depend on food assistance to feed their babies, people deserve better than endless uncertainty and stopgaps. They deserve a government that will tackle the real issues they’re facing. And that’s what I’m fighting for in Congress.

But I can’t do this alone. I need your support if we’re going to counter the damage done by extremist Republicans. Will you please make a contribution as we keep fighting for marginalized communities to deliver progress to the people who need it most?

Yours in service,

Ayanna
