It’s too late for incremental change, friend.
Record heat waves, floods, worsening pollution, and catastrophic wildfires are threatening our health and our lives. In 2023, the world witnessed the hottest summer on record, and if we don’t work quickly to lower our emissions, it will become the coolest summer we’ll ever have. And on top of all of that, El Niño is forecasted to peak in 2024, which could raise planetary temperatures to record warmth in the first half of this year.
After years of inaction, we have finally seen California make strides in combating the climate crisis these past two years — thanks in large parts to our advocacy efforts and public pressure campaigns.
But to meet the 2030 deadline scientists have given us to make the necessary investments to avoid the most catastrophic consequences of climate change, we need every year to be a landmark year for climate action.
As our team maps out its plans to continue climate action success in 2024, we would love to hear from you.
