** 25 January 2024
------------------------------------------------------------

The role of South Africa in bringing genocide allegations against Israel is further evidence of a vast global network of interrelated entities, countries and other interests that supported the Hamas terrorist attack on 7^th October 2023, and are continuing to supporting terror against Israel.

“Terror” is defined as the use of violent or destructive acts (such as bombing) committed by groups in order to intimidate a population or government into granting their demands.

Hamas is by definition a terrorist organization. As its 1988 Charter shows, it is an Islamist movement committed to the use of violence in order to “obliterate Israel” and “raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine”.

The mere existence of the State of Israel is seen as an obstacle to the reign and rule of Allah.

Iran, Qatar and Turkey are now the main sponsors and supporters of Hamas. Hamas is deeply embedded in UN institutions such as UNRWA. The European Union (and its member states) is financing Hamas through support of the PA, Palestinian organizations, UNRWA and other UN institutions connected to Hamas. Although Hamas is on various terror lists, sanctions are weak and poorly implemented and policed.

The legal proceedings against Israel in international institutions like the International Court of Justice (ICJ), International Criminal Court (ICC) and UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) are to a large extent expressions of these political, ideological, religious and economic interests.

It has become clear that South Africa is acting as an agent of these hostile interests.

Tragically, too few Western governments have the courage to insist that no concessions should be made to any person or entity that supports acts of terror. This should be a red line for all Western nations.

It is bizarre - and totally unacceptable - that the acts of terror committed by Hamas operating from Gaza on a continual basis since 2006 (not to mention its fellow Iranian proxies such as Hezbollah in Lebanon) in order to obliterate Israel, with their climax on 7th October 2023, are somehow compared with the acts of Israel – a sovereign, democratic state – in defending its citizens.

The tragic but inevitable killing of innocent Palestinian civilians in the course of a legitimate war of self-defence, cannot be compared morally with the intentional and indiscriminate slaughter of innocent Jews simply because they are Jews.

To claim that Israel is committing genocide is beyond comprehension – and yet, South Africa has succeeded in capturing the world’s attention and even obtaining a hearing at the ICJ in The Hague. Even if their case is rejected (which is unlikely), they have won a PR victory. Thanks to social media, the idea that the Jews are guilty of genocide has now been planted in the hearts and minds of a new generation that has been brainwashed by woke Marxist ideologies and is largely ignorant of history.

In the meantime, the world looks on as Hamas continues to hold hostages and the bodies of deceased Israelis, in blatant contravention of international law and morality.

It is also strange that so many in the West are calling for a two-state solution governed by the Fatah-ruled Palestinian Authority (PA). Over the past months, the PA has shown that it shares Hamas’ commitment to terror as a weapon.

The culture of terror and violence is the curse of the Middle East. The complete abandonment of terror should be a condition precedent (sine qua non) to the provision of ANY Western financial aid to the Palestinian Authority or any other entity that seeks to advance Palestinian self-determination claims.

Thankfully, the European Parliament stated clearly last week that a permanent ceasefire should only be established if “all hostages are immediately and unconditionally released and the terrorist organisation Hamas is dismantled”. (The EP’s resolution was good on this point, but problematic in other respects).

Tomorrow, Friday 26^th January 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) will publish its ruling on the South Africa vs Israel genocide case. Let us hope and pray fervently in the coming hours that the Court will have the wisdom to ensure that Israel is able to take all necessary action to protect innocent Palestinian and Israeli lives and defend itself against the cancer of extreme Islamist terrorism.

South Africa's Diplomatic Campaign Against Israel – In Service Of Hamas And In Cooperation With Hamas' Patron, Qatar
These measures by South Africa are in line with the fact that it maintains close relations with Hamas, despite the latter's recognition as a terrorist organization by many countries, and also cooperates with Hamas' patron, the state of Qatar. South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) party not only refrained from condemning Hamas' October 7 attack but even issued a statement calling the attack an "unsurprising" response to "the brutality of the settler Israeli apartheid regime."

Ruth’s Reaction | The Book of RUTH with Johannes Gerloff #27

The young Moabite woman's reaction to the rich Israelite's offer is a startlingly real picture of how gentiles in the New Testament encounter Israel's Messiah, who opens up a new perspective and hope for their lives.

** SCRIPTURE FOR THE WEEK:
------------------------------------------------------------

** Psalm 61
------------------------------------------------------------

^1 Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.

^2 From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
^3 For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.

^4 I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.

^5 For you, God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

^6 Increase the days of the king’s life, his years for many generations.
^7 May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.

^8 Then I will ever sing in praise of your name and fulfill my vows day after day.
