As your City Council President, I am thrilled to update you on our recent activities during the first few weeks of 2024. 

Together, we are laying the groundwork for a transformative period in the history of Philadelphia.

In the past few weeks, my office organized two days of intensive orientation/refresher sessions for my fellow Councilmembers. This initiative was aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of the legislative process, legislation development, and the intricacies of the City's operating budget. It is my belief that a well-informed and engaged Council is crucial for effective governance, and these sessions were a pivotal step in that direction.

This work marks the beginning of my commitment to making this upcoming term the best and most inclusive in the history of Philadelphia's City Council. By equipping our members with the knowledge and tools they need, we are working towards a more collaborative, hardworking, and transparent Council. 

Together, we will strive to address the needs and concerns of our diverse community, ensuring that every voice is heard in the decision-making process.
