Donald Trump has won the New Hampshire primary, and is the presumptive Republican nominee. This is terrifying because he is a clear and present danger to democracy.
He disqualified himself by inciting the violent January 6 insurrection. He continues to lie about the 2020 election results and has colluded with foreign adversaries. Regardless of your politics (left, right or indifferent), a vote for Trump is a vote against democracy's survival.
The general election is in nine months—and this campaign will be nasty, brutish and long. We must be vigilant and remind voters what the stakes are. And we must do all we can to ensure that our friends turn out and vote to defeat Trump.
