This World Water Day, we are celebrating the amazing opportunities that clean hands can bring in rural Africa. Preventing disease and keeping children healthy means they can stay in school and go after their dreams.
 
Here in the UK, we are fortunate enough to have access to running water to wash our hands. But for other families around the world, their lives are put at risk due to a lack of clean water nearby.
 
Promoting handwashing and increasing access to clean water are key parts of our work in Africa. A tip-tap is a clean, safe way for people to wash their hands when they don’t have access to running water.

Tip-taps are an ingenious African hand-washer that help keep hygiene levels high. This simple structure made from recycled and readily available materials means families can easily wash their hands by pressing a lever with their foot.
