California’s U.S. Senate primary is 40 days away

The challenge: This competitive race features more than two dozen
candidates, one of which has stockpiled more money than any other Democrat
in the country. Another is a celebrity Republican with high name ID. And
our campaign has the very expensive task of reaching voters in the
country’s most populous state—California’s population is equal to the
population of 21 other states combined.

The stakes: We’ll never fear-monger you. Barring something truly
unexpected, California will be represented by a Democrat in the US Senate.
But there are distinct differences between Katie and the other Democrats
in this race, and Californians have a once in a generation chance to send
someone other than a career politician to Washington. A consumer
protection advocate and single mom, Katie is the only candidate in this
race who has never taken a dime from corporate PACs, and will truly stand
up to the corporate interests that run Washington.

The plan: Polls show Katie at risk of losing, so we need to reach millions
of voters before our March 5th primary. The most efficient way to do that
is through TV and digital ads. If we don’t ramp up soon, we risk our
opponents drowning us out.
