A Momentous Win for Wisconsinites and Democracy

In a long-awaited victory to protect Wisconsinites' freedom to vote, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that the state’s unfair maps violate a provision of the state constitution. Campaign Legal Center (CLC) partnered with Law Forward, the Election Law Clinic at Harvard Law School, Stafford Rosenbaum LLP, and Arnold & Porter to file a lawsuit on behalf of 19 Wisconsin voters from across the state who have had their voices silenced by the maps.

The state legislature now has the opportunity to craft new maps that give Wisconsin voters an equal chance to make their voices heard and elect leaders who will best serve their community.

Elections should be determined by voters, not politicians who manipulate voting maps to benefit themselves.
