Dear Friend,? ? DC Jobs With Justice and the Fair Price Fair Wage coalition have been fighting back against attacks on tipped workers and the "junk fees" that are popping up at DC restaurants. And you know what, the fight back is working!? ? The Council is no longer considering changing implementation of the I-82 timeline. This is huge! That bill was a wholehearted attack on I-82 and tipped workers. ?We have successfully stopped the attacks on the I-82 timeline, but incentives to keep using fees have been added to a different bill, and now we need to stop it there.?Sign the petition for good jobs and fair prices right now! ? The Council will vote on the "Restaurant Revitalization and Dram Shop Clarification Amendment Act of 2024" on Tuesday, February 6. So, we only have a few days to prevent that bill from incentivizing fees and continuing to blame I-82 for those fees.? ? |

We continue to hear from workers that fees discourage tipping and are making their job experiences worse. Customers also dislike fees and find them confusing.
