Grant Funds Available to Support Formerly Incarcerated Students in Postsecondary Attainment

"New competitive grant program to award Minnesota institutions and?programs that provide postsecondary guidance and services to formerly incarcerated students"

*St. Paul, Minn. ??*The application period is now open for institutions and organizations to submit proposals for *Intervention for* *College Attendance Program: Formerly Incarcerated Students (ICAP FIS)* Grants.

Administered by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, the ICAP FIS is a one-time grant opportunity for institutions and programs to increase postsecondary access and support for students who have formerly been incarcerated.?Grant funds will be awarded to eligible applicants providing new or enhancing existing opportunities for students to have available resources, skills, and guidance to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.

Eligible applicants include Minnesota public and private postsecondary institutions, professional organizations, and community-based organizations. Eligible support services will allow students to prepare for and succeed in postsecondary education, which includes, but is not limited to, academic counseling, mentoring, navigator services, career awareness and exploration, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) services, among other opportunities.
