| Fellow American,
I served in the United States Army for more than 12 years.
As a combat veteran, I learned many lessons during my service.
But there is one in particular that has stuck with me to this day, even though it has been more than 13 years since I was carried off the battlefield for the final time…
In September 2010, I was serving as part of the Joint Special Operations Command in Afghanistan. We had just acquired the location of a high-value target and were moving in under the cover of darkness.
Next thing I knew, there was a loud bang and a bright flash. The last thing I remember was my teeth rattling so hard in my skull, then darkness.
I finally awoke in Walter Reed Medical Center and learned that I lost both my legs and a finger in Afghanistan when a Taliban IED exploded beneath me. But I survived.
After a long recovery, I returned home to my wife, Brianna, and our young son.
I was a changed man, but the lessons from my years in the military remained.
As a combat veteran, there is one thing in particular that I will never do.
It’s a rule that has helped me recover from my injuries, graduate from Harvard, volunteer alongside the Israeli Defense Force, and eventually return to serving my country in Congress.
My simple rule: I will never give up.
In combat, I learned to never give up the fight - and I never will.
In my recovery, I learned to never give up trying to walk again - and now I can run on my metal legs.
In Congress, I’ve learned to never give up because the stakes are too high - but now I need help.
My team and I are growing worried about a new plot from Democrats in D.C…
A new rule from the FEC has allowed them to raise EVEN MORE from mega-donors. Liberals would love nothing more than to use those funds to flip my seat from red to blue, silencing a proud, patriotic veteran in the process!
I’ll be blunt – we need to turn our fundraising around ASAP to match their efforts. Resources are drying up significantly, and my campaign needs a leg up to get ahead! 🦿
I will never give up fighting for AMERICA FIRST, but I urgently need financial reinforcements in my campaign. Anything that you can chip in will help!
I didn’t back down when terrorists blew off my legs, so I certainly am not going to back down now. If you are willing to give your support, I give you my word I will not give up this fight.
Thank you,
SSG Brian Mast, U.S. Army (ret.)
