The PLOT Coordinator will work to organize, implement, and manage the PLOT Training Program and its participants throughout the spring and summer of 2024. Abortion Opponents Try to Regroup After Losing Ground in Minnesota
A group of anti-abortion demonstrators carried blankets holding more than 12,000 plastic fetuses up the front stairs of Minnesota’s Capitol and into the rotunda Monday to illustrate the number in abortions performed in the state in 2022.
“As bad as last year was, there are worse things coming in the Legislature this year that we need all of your help to fight and defeat,” Don Parker with MCCL said to a crowd of hundreds. “They are introducing a constitutional amendment to put abortion in our state constitution.”

Fosston Hospital Latest in Rural Minnesota to Stop Delivering Babies Biden and Harris to Make Reproductive Rights Push in First Joint 2024 Campaign Event
Baby deliveries will no longer be scheduled at Essentia Health's hospital in Fosston, Minn., under a plan that will further erode labor and delivery services outside of Minnesota's largest cities. The northwest Minnesota hospital had hoped to reopen its obstetrical unit after a shortage of trained staff forced it in June 2022 to divert deliveries an hour's drive south to Essentia's hospital in Detroit Lakes. Now that change will be permanent. Recruiting had become challenging at a time when births are declining in the region but pregnancies are more likely to involve risks and complications. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are set to make their first joint campaign appearance of 2024 next week as they look to lay out how abortion rights are at stake in November’s election. The event, which a campaign official said will focus on reproductive rights, comes one day after the anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, which enshrined the federal constitutional right to an abortion for decades before the Supreme Court overturned it in 2022.
