Last month our campaign made international news [[link removed]] when we became the first campaign in the world to use a voice-powered artificial intelligence agent ("Ashley") to reach voters. At that time, there was a lot of discussion about the ethical implications of using AI in political campaigns. My team and I thought long and hard about those ethical questions, and decided that we wanted to lead from the front by utilizing this cutting edge technology in a way that is fully ethical, truthful and transparent.
In the last week, the deceitful and unethical use of this kind of technology has made its own headlines. These stories have highlighted the need for ethical leadership, and a recent story on NPR acknowledged our campaign's leadership on this important issue.
I'm reaching out today to ask you to support my campaign so that I can continue to provide the leadership we need on this issue as a candidate, and as a member of Congress.

What's the flip side of the coin? The unethical use of AI technology in political life is already becoming a reality. In just the past week, AI has been used to mislead voters in Harlem [[link removed]] and New Hampshire [[link removed]] , and it's only January. In the year ahead, we can expect to see more stories like this, and we are all worried about the impact this could have the 2024 election and beyond.
As a candidate, I am leading by example, but in Congress, I will do more . Our regulatory framework is insufficient to deal with this emerging technology, and it is only falling further behind. If you believe we need leadership on this issue in the halls of Congress, I am asking for your support. Actions speak louder than words, and my actions tell you that this issue is more than just talk for me.
