Israel, Hamas Finalizing Ceasefire Deal That Returns All Hostages Home

Just the News: Israel and Hamas have reportedly agree in principle to deal in which prisoners and hostages will be released as part of a month-long ceasefire. However, the framework plan is being held up by the two sides’ differences over how to bring a permanent end to their war in Gaza. While Israel has sought to negotiate one stage at a time, Hamas is seeking “a package deal” that agrees on a permanent ceasefire before hostages are released during the initial phase. Gaza residents appeared Wednesday to be protesting against Hamas and demanding the group return hostages taken from Israel, according to a video released by the Israeli Defense Forces. The same day, other videos appeared to show Israelis, including relatives of captives, protesting the entry of humanitarian aid trucks to Gaza (Just the News). Times of Israel: Five of the sources said Israel had refused to discuss any end to the war that did not include Hamas being dismantled. They did not specify if exiling the leadership would meet that bar (Times of Israel).

Spencer Brown: As the Biden border crisis worsens, House Republicans’ efforts to pursue accountability for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas continue to speed ahead as the impeachment inquiry against the DHS chief is about to enter a new phase. According to the House Committee on Homeland Security, members will gather next Tuesday to begin the markup of their articles of impeachment against Mayorkas for “high crimes and misdemeanors” (Townhall). Rep. Michael McCaul: If this administration won’t take action to protect America and secure our border, House Committee on Homeland Security will. It starts with impeaching the one man who has failed to enforce necessary laws and created this unprecedented crisis: Secretary Mayorkas (X).

The chairman subpoenaed Becerra, noting in his letter he was looking into the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and its handling of unaccompanied alien children (UAC) at the border (Townhall). Rep. Jim Jordan: Today, we subpoenaed HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra for information about the placement of unaccompanied alien children with convicted murders and other criminals (X).

Court Deals Blow to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for Unconstitutionally Applying Emergency Powers To Suppress Freedom Convoy
Bloomberg: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s decision to use emergency legislation to quell the “freedom convoy” protests that gripped downtown Ottawa and border crossings in 2022 was not justified, the Federal Court of Canada has ruled. The court’s statement marks a blow to Trudeau’s government. Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said the government will appeal. The Canadian Civil Liberties Association, the Canadian Constitution Foundation and other groups had challenged the government’s use of the law to end the protests and freeze the bank accounts of people affiliated with it, arguing it was unnecessary and unconstitutional. The protesters were opposed to Covid-19 restrictions and vaccine mandates (Bloomberg). Federalist: Despite his best attempt to play the role of a dictator, Trudeau’s use of the Emergencies Act went beyond the scope of what is permitted by Canadian law. While the Emergencies Act can be employed to manage a national emergency that “cannot be effectively dealt with under any other law of Canada,” Mosley determined that Trudeau’s actions far exceeded that threshold (Federalist).

Pro-Palestine Groups Keep Telling the World of Their Need of Violence
Townhall: The “pro-Palestine” mob continues to flaunt its thinly veiled violent intentions — and they think you’re stupid enough not to notice. As Israel Defense Forces respond to the attacks from Hamas terrorists and the increasingly dire hostage situation for those still held in Hamas captivity within the Gaza Strip, “pro-Palestine” protestors across the country have taken to the streets with vitriol. From the aggressive to the plain ignorant, the only thing being demonstrated by these protestors is an unashamed call for violence against Jews (Townhall). Reporter Luai Ahmed: A man onstage says during a pro-Palestine protest: “We need to normalize massacres as the status quo.” Islamists march down the streets with jihadist flags resembling al-Qaeda’s. Why are Brits allowing these terrorists to stay in their country (X)? Oli London: Communist and socialist groups promoting Russian dictator Lenin, who killed 8 million people, participate in todays pro-Palestine protest in London today. “Are you a Communist? Then get organized” (X). Chris Rose: “What does socialist intifada mean?” Palestinian protester: “If I’m being honest with you I just got this at the stand over there. I don’t actually know the definition of the word Intifada.” None of them knew what Intifada means but happy to hold signs with it on (X).

Amazon Creates New Show Where Satan Is God’s Victim, Ultimate Hero
Christian Post: Amazon Prime prompted backlash on social media for rolling out a trailer for a new animated series that suggests the angels of God are “heartless” while sympathetically portraying demons, Lucifer and his mythological lover Lilith. The clip closed by suggesting that Heaven was “threatened” by the growing power of Hell, leading its forces to make the annual “heartless decision” to send an exterminating army “to ensure Hell and sinners could never rise against them” (Christian Post). Reporter Kasey Lynae: Amazon has a new cartoon for children!  You will never guess the plot! That’s right! SATAN is the victim and the hero of this cartoon (X)! Prime Video: Heaven and hell like you’ve never seen them before (X).

Georgia Republicans Support Investigation Into DA Fani Willis for Misconduct
National Review: Thirty Republican state senators in Georgia are backing a plan to launch an investigation into allegations of misconduct by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is accused of hiring her under-qualified romantic partner to lead the prosecution of the 2020 election-fraud case against former president Donald Trump and 18 other defendants. Senate Resolution 465, which was introduced by state senator Greg Dolezal on Monday, would create a special senate committee with subpoena power specifically to investigate the charges against Willis. The resolution passed out of its first committee on Tuesday (National Review). New York Post: The best way to save democracy, it seems, is by spending taxpayer dollars on cruises with your boss/girlfriend. Wade spent north of $6,000 on travel to places like Aruba in October and November 2022 alone— and he paid for plane tickets for Willis, clearly intending her to fly with him on at least some of the lavish trips (New York Post).

New Jersey Finds Banning Single-Use Grocery Bags Led to Triple Amount of Plastic Bags in Landfills
Fox News: Plastic consumption in New Jersey spiked by nearly three times following the state’s implementation of a strict ban on single-use plastic shopping bags, a study found. New Jersey implemented a ban on single-use plastic bags in 2022, the strictest ban on bags in the nation at the time, billing it as an effort to cut back on the plastic one-use bags piling up in landfills. Instead of having the intended beneficial impact on the environment, the reusable bag ban has actually backfired, data reported in the study show. Plastic consumption in the state has nearly tripled, with New Jerseyans previously consuming 53 million pounds of plastic before the ban, compared to 151 million pounds following the ban (Fox News). Reporter Steve Milloy: New Jersey plastic bag ban backfires: “Following New Jersey’s ban of single-use bags, the shift from plastic film to alternative bags resulted in a nearly 3x increase in plastic consumption for bags.” Everything ‘green’ fails (X).

Biden in Virginia: "Hello, Virginia! And the real governor, Terry McAuliffe"
New York Post: President Biden referred to defeated Democratic ex-Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe as the state’s “real governor” Tuesday — even though Biden has made Donald Trump’s failure to accept the result of their 2020 presidential election a centerpiece of his re-election bid. “Hello, Virginia! And the real governor, Terry McAuliffe,” the 81-year-old president said while gesturing to McAuliffe as Biden began a campaign speech in Manassas focused on abortion rights (New York Post). Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin Responded to Biden: Mr. President, I’m right here (X). Libs of TikTok: I was informed that denying election results is the biggest threat to our democracy. Start the impeachment hearings (X)!
