Before the last election, Anthony Albanese promised he would ‘under no circumstances’ cancel the Coalition’s stage three tax cuts, due to commence on 1 July this year.

He promised Australians that they could trust him to keep his promise because, ‘My word is my bond.’

Now, after days of leaks and speculation, the Prime Minister confirmed his word is worth nothing.

Today, at the National Press Club, the Prime Minister broke his promise and betrayed the Australian people.

Anthony Albanese has looked Australians in the eye and knowingly and repeatedly lied to them.

He has committed a breach of trust on a scale not seen since Julia Gillard’s infamous ‘No Carbon Tax’ promise.

If the Prime Minister can perpetrate such a huge lie, how can anyone ever believe anything he says, ever again?

Today’s announcement has left Australians with more questions than answers.

But one thing is clear – Anthony Albanese cannot be trusted.
