Topic:?Proposal (CR-102) ? Safety Standards for Firefighters
Brief Description:?The purpose of this rulemaking is to update chapter 296-305 WAC, Safety standards for firefighters. Labor & Industries received a petition requesting L&I update the language in WAC 296-305-03002, Hazardous materials. There have been many technological advances in the years since this rule was written, including in personal protective equipment (PPE) materials, certification and testing. The proposed amendments update the required standards for hazardous materials protective equipment. Under WAC 296-305-04001, Respiratory equipment protection, an update to the reference to ANSI/CGA G6-1, Commodity Specification for Air, will fix a typo in the standard number.
Public hearing date: February 28, 2024 (virtual/telephonic) Written comments due: March 6, 2024 Intended adoption date: April 16, 2024
