[link removed] [[link removed]] John,
I know a lot of you may have only heard about CREW in the last few weeks or even in the last year. You probably heard of us because we’re the group suing to keep Donald Trump off the ballot in Colorado.
What you may not know is that this case has been years in the making. And I want to share with you a few key dates that have got us to where we are today – just 15 days away from making our case in front of the Supreme Court to disqualify Trump from the ballot.
I’ll tell you more about how we’ve been fighting to hold Donald Trump accountable, but I have to ask a quick question first: can you make a donation to CREW today?
We’ve taken on a lot of tough fights before, fights that folks didn’t think we’d win – but we did. And we need your help to win again – on the biggest stage our country has. We’re going to the Supreme Court to disqualify Trump, make a donation to help us defend the ruling to keep him off the ballot → [[link removed]]

You might be shocked to think this case goes back to 2017, here’s why:
On January 20, 2017, Donald Trump swore an oath to protect the Constitution during his inauguration.
FIRSTNAME, since that day, we’ve taken a *lot* of actions to hold Donald Trump accountable, but nothing prepared us for the action that we’d have to take after January 6, 2021.
On January 6, 2021, insurrectionists stormed the U.S. Capital at Donald Trump’s urging. Trump incited tens of thousands of his supporters to “fight like hell” to overturn the election results by marching to the Capitol to “stop the steal.” He even poured fuel on the fire, targeting Mike Pence for lacking the “courage” to overturn the election in a tweet that measurably caused the mob to surge.
Instead of intervening to defend the Capitol, Trump continued to urge members of Congress to deliver on the mob’s goal to delay the election certification. FIRSTNAME, he swore an oath to the Constitution and on January 6th, he violated that oath.
From that day forward, we knew we had to act. We knew that any person who participated in the insurrection had to be held accountable – even the president of the United States.
Some of the people who participated in the insurrection on the Capitol had sworn an oath to the Constitution. And under the 14th Amendment, that meant they were no longer eligible to hold office. So we took action.
We know we can remove Trump from the ballot under the 14th Amendment because we’ve already successfully removed an insurrectionist from office before. If you want to support CREW as we fight to remove Trump from the ballot next, click here to make a donation → [[link removed]]

On March 21, 2022, CREW, along with our co-counsel in New Mexico, filed a lawsuit on behalf of three New Mexico residents to remove Otero County Commissioner and Cowboys for Trump founder Couy Griffin from office for his participation in the events leading up to and on January 6th during the insurrection.
And just a few months later, on September 6, 2022, the judge ordered the immediate removal of Couy Griffin from office, marking the first time in 150 years that a court has removed an elected official under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. But we were determined it wouldn’t be the last.
On September 6, 2023, we filed our lawsuit in Colorado to enforce Trump’s disqualification from the ballot under the 14th Amendment – and on December 19, 2023, in a 4-3 decision, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump is ineligible to appear on the Colorado primary ballot.
But Donald Trump appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court, and now we’re gearing up to defend our win.
Our arguments to the Supreme Court are on February 8th, and if we want to defend all the progress we’ve made towards holding Trump accountable, we have to do everything in our power to defend this win and keep him off the ballot.
This is without a doubt the biggest fight CREW has ever taken on. And this decision will have an impact for decades to come. So we need every person reading this email to get involved in this fight, because this is the most important time you can make a difference.
Please, make a donation to CREW today and help us hold insurrectionist Donald Trump accountable to the law. Help us defend our lawsuit win and keep Trump off the ballot → [[link removed]]
