Friend, I have to be honest: we’ve seen a dip in our grassroots fundraising over the last few weeks.

Considering folks are taking time away from political news this time of year, Election Day likely isn’t top of mind for many folks, so this isn't very surprising.

Here’s the issue: Republicans know this too, and they know that the path to holding onto the House majority requires flipping seats like mine this November, so they’re working overtime to pour money into this race and launch attack ads against me.

But here’s the good news: Our grassroots team is no stranger to tough fights. Last year, we ran a strong campaign through Election Day and elected me as the first Democratic woman to represent IL-13 — flipping this seat blue for the first time in decades.

This didn’t happen overnight, friends.

Thousands of grassroots supporters pitched in every month to help power us over the finish line, so we can do it again if we start working together now to prepare for the obstacles we’ll face down the road.
