Hello from San Francisco —

In the three weeks since suspending my presidential campaign, I’ve been grateful to spend quality time with Kat and my kids and catch up after the whirlwind of the campaign trail. I’ve also been thinking about how to continue fighting for the people, while watching the world, our country, and our home state of California grapple with the coronavirus pandemic.

If you’re feeling uncertain, concerned about your health and that of your loved ones, and worried for our shared future — know that you’re not alone. 

But even during a public health emergency affecting the entire globe, life goes on: Communities like Denmark, South Carolina and Flint, Michigan are still fighting for clean drinking water. Our planet is still facing the existential threat of climate change. The Trump administration is still prioritizing corporations over people in need.

I don’t know for sure what’s next for me. But like I said when I started my campaign, and again when I ended it, my heart is in these issues — win, lose, or draw, I am in this fight.

I will keep you posted as things evolve, and in the meantime, I’ll keep reaching out about the fights we can and must win together.
