Delegate Dan Helmer lives in Fairfax County with his wife, Karen, a public school educator, and their two sons. Dan is a West Point graduate and former active-duty Army Intelligence and Armor Officer who served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he stood up the national Counterinsurgency Center. In 2019, Dan won his campaign for Virginia House of Delegates and is now running to represent his district in Congress.
