The Central Valley and Inland Empire have some of the nation’s worst air quality, especially from warehouses, which bring exhaust emissions and displace our communities of color. Long-term health risks like respiratory diseases, lung cancer, and impaired cognitive functioning severely impact these communities.
Living through that reality is an experience that cannot be understood with only statistics and facts. Millions of residents in these regions are forced to breathe in polluted air and drink unsafe water every single day, and our Ambassadors are here to speak up about it.
In an amazing recent update, two of the Ambassadors from last year’s cohort were interviewed in a piece by the Brennan Center for Justice — a policy institute based in New York and Washington, D.C. — on how young activists can aid in environmental decision-making!
